Scenic Route Marketing, founded by Kelsey McCormick, stands as an independent marketing agency based in North Carolina. Operating as a boutique agency, it thrives on taking unconventional approaches to help clients construct and elevate their brands.

Brand identity, logo design, business cards

I was tasked with designing a distinctive logo and creating a vibrant color palette for Scenic Route Marketing. The existing logo lacked uniqueness and was easily replicable, lacking distinction among other brands. Moreover, there was an absence of a consistent palette to strengthen the visual identity. Kelsey sought a logo that was both unique and easily recognizable. Alongside the logo, the directive included developing a color palette featuring natural tones that were dynamic and far from dull.

The inspiration behind the logo was rooted in the concept of routes or roads, symbolizing the idea that all paths converge at some point. To visually represent this connection, I opted to intertwine the S and R of "Scenic Route," forming a distinctive shape that remains recognizable.

Kelsey envisioned business cards that transcended the ordinary, aiming for each card to function as a distinct piece of art. To achieve this, I crafted unique variations for both Kelsey and her business partner, ensuring that the designed cards would stand out in contrast to the typical business card landscape. The logo, serving as a consistent and attention-grabbing element, became a key focal point in these captivating and individualized business card designs.

Kelsey was inspired by this imaged and wanted a color palette that resembled it. The brand allows for creative color freedom on collateral such as the business cards as the bold logo carries the brand. However, the more subdued brand colors serves as a strong supporting base for materials such as business slides and social media filler slides.

Scenic Route Marketing predominantly serves clients centered around sustainability and community-focused products and services. To echo these values, a palette was selected that embraces earthy and grounded tones.
